THERMOPLASTIC RAILROAD TIE: On Sept. 1,1998, PolySum received its first patent for a thermoplastic railroad cross tie - patent number 5,799,870.

THERMOPLASTIC PHOTOLUMINESCENT PILING: On December 14, 1999, PolySum receives its second patent for marine pilings - patent number 6,001,491. Patent title is “Thermoplastic Photoluminescent pilings and Process for Making Thereof”.

WORLDWIDE PATENT PROTECTION: On August 11, 2000, PolySum filed for patent protection in twenty-one countries of the world. The law firm that handles all of PolySum's intellectual property needs is the firm of Garvey, Smith, Nehrbass, & Doody of New Orleans, Louisiana.
